Sozai Cooking School
Sozai Cooking School
Restyling and transformation to create a unique culinary venue.
Situated within the City of London’s financial district, the design brief was to create Sozai – a Japanese dining experience during the day and cooking school in the evenings.
Having previously worked with the client to deliver their So Japanese restaurant in Soho, London, we were appointed to work within a tight budget and programme to meet the brand launch date, developing the concept through to technical design and overseeing delivery of this unique venue.
A clear understanding of the quality of the experience which the client wished to deliver and the manner in which the premises could be easily transformed from a restaurant to cooking school each evening with minimal effort was a key aspect of the functionality of the space. The use of a bold pallet of materials and dramatic lighting created a dynamic atmosphere for the evening cooking experience.
On completion Managing Director Niall Healy and Business Manager Olive Moynihan were treated by the founder to an evening of sushi making classes at the venue once operational.
